I think think that maybe the decoherence is fear. We've been conditioned to fear and suspect one another because of the fear of death from a stranger or friend who may be contagious even in the absence of symptoms (maybe, if you're kissing 🤷♀️). I don't really fear death anyway, except instinctively. (ie: teaching a teen to drive on an icy, mountain road. 😂) I did not and do not understand the fear of the "Chyna virus".

It reminded me of a time when, as a college freshman I was in my dorm room in old Deming Hall with a few other guys, and we began experiencing a strange, very loud, vibration that seemed to come from everywhere in the dorm. It was intermittent, and recurred several times within a few minutes. We thought it might be an earthquake. Then it stopped. Later, we found out the cause: a couple of sophomore electrical engineering students had connected a frequency generator to the sound system in their room, and calculated one of the dorm's resonant frequencies. You can guess the rest. I'm sure they got a few laughs out it, and it was an effective demonstration of resonance.
Your article also made me think about the way our media have been used as a way to resonate the message of the left. The leftists have obtained a powerful type of relatively coherent resonance using the media to amplify propaganda that previously would have been easy to dismiss. The things that give us a sense of stability( coherence) are currently in flux for a larger percentage of the population than normal. The concepts of family,gender,morality have all become “relative” due to the constant media pressure and society as a whole is not willing to go along . This pressure is what is driving our decoherence.
Hmm. First thought is the induced fear increased the tension towards others, which was amplified by changes we felt we must comply with to be civil or safe that made us feel worse... mostly subconsciously. Multiply that discomfort more and more the longer yiu "carry" it...
The tolerance needed to be civil was reduced in some part by every covid societal change imposed. Each made everyone more uncomfortable than before. And it went on for long durations. Doing so is like carrying stress is a long time, where the strain increasingly ramps up the longer it goes on.
Having no good options to return to prior, preferred norms caused a lot of it.
I noticed a move back to more civility as time passed after the Gestapo-like restrictions were eased or removed.
I've read studies about the long term impacts of carrying financial stress related to basic survival at the poverty lines. It leads to irrational and often damaging choices that are counterproductive. Probably something similar at work here.

My immediate thought would be the Internet -- it is a solvent which dissolves our normal interactions with each other. People, especially the young, have been socialised (de-socialised?) not to engage with each other but to swipe at their smart phones.
Someone may speak of Marxism and Fascism. After all, these have taken hold in history before the Internet. Globalisation would be another answer.
Not sure exactly, but would say the answer is technology in general. It has made our ways of working and interacting redundant. We are trapped in interesting times and in for the ride.

I also think it’s good to keep a fresh perspective and never forget what we as a society did to our children, starting in March 2020 until now. The covid scare, the masks, the protocols in school, the segregation and separation. It was a horrible and confusing time and you see intense issues manifesting in schools. The behavior issues have increased dramatically in lower elementary, even 5/6 grade. Kids are functioning 1-2 years behind emotionally and academically. The problem isn’t going away and I pray adults keep their perspective straight. We have a lot of work ahead of us. We need God and lots of Grace to get us through.

I believe that the biggest thing for those of us in the US will be the upcoming elections. It’s not just about changing the direction of the country (which is important), but it’s also about proving to ourselves that we still have the ability to do so.
The ‘alleged’ fraud in the last election along with the subsequent heavy handed actions of the Biden administration since then have left people questioning whether we are still a free country.
I think that a mostly honest election will do a lot toward setting things right in the US. And what happens here effects the rest of the world.
