At the farmers market near my house, one of the vendors sells a bee venom wax that helps with a excema and pain. I bought some out of curiosity.

I have been trying to decrease my reliance on allergy meds, but have a strange withdrawal symptom when I don't take Zyrtec (all the more reson why I am trying to get off that med) - the side effect? My entire body starts to itch, starting with my hands and feet. The bees wax venom has helped reduce the itching and allowed me to space out the Zyrtec as I wean myself off it.

I do believe there are definite health benefits of bees venom.

Wow! This could be life changing for me. After almost 40 years I would love to get off the albuterol and my disk. Thank you so much for sharing this cog!

Thanks for sharing the bee story. I had asthma for thirty years starting around 30 years old. Used the albuterol daily as well as advair for many years.

Turned out I was allergic to the dust in clay based cat litter. Once we changed to the breeze type system which uses ceramic pellets instead of clay litter, I was cured. Took a few months to work it out of my system until I figured out I didn't need inhalers anymore.

I am thinking of putting in a couple hives. The honey bees have almost vanished in my area of New Mexico the last few years. I hand pollinate with a vibrating toothbrush but bees would help keep the yellow off my teeth.

I am glad you are OK. You didn't tell me how severe your asthma is. Please keep me in the loop.

Just one note. Your bee hives look wonderful ... But, put a different coloured large circle at the hive entrance of each as bees will then tend to recognize which is 'their' hive from the colour at the hive entrance. This will prevent 'bee drift' from on colony to another. Bees recognize a 'foreigner' and may attack it.

I’ve had asthma since I was a kid. A year ago I learned that magnesium orotate (or magnesium threonate) will cure asthma. It does. I haven’t used my albuterol inhaler since I began taking magnesium.

My husband is a beekeeper and owns a bee supply store here in Pennsylvania. We have hives in our yard and hundreds more on some land near us. I’ve been stung a few times but don’t have the courage to use the bee venom approach to getting rid of my asthma as I’m a weenie. 😁

Cog, I had a greenhouse with a Aquaponics system and raised Tilipa and Catfish in a 5000 gallon tank with a total of 8000 Gallon system, and grew lots of veggies in the gravel Biofilters. Black Solider Flies were a great source of food for both kinds of fish. I grew quite a lot of them using spoiled feed that I got from the feed store.

Very interesting about the asthma. I think it makes sense that the bee stings might help it, but hadn't considered it before. Have you heard of rabbit tobacco for asthma? The leaves dry a grey silver color late in the fall, and if you smoke them (in a pipe usually) it is an old remedy for an asthma attack. I have it growing in my yard. There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosophies!
